A pleasant surprise from Stephen King.

For years, I had not worried about this being the only Stephen King book that I hadn't read. Many people said that it really wasn't a great book and several said that they had started it but never finished it.

Frankly, I don't know what the problem was. The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon is a gripping story about a little girl who is lost in the woods. It narrates the trials and tribulations of her journey and struggle to survive on her own in a seemingly unending ...more

As any SK lover will tell you finding a quick read written by this author is near impossible.
This author has short stories that average the length of an average Indie author book!

This however, even if it is a full length novel is a very short read by SK standards.
We have a 9 year old girl, big for her age whom gets lost in the woods.
99% of this book has absolutely nothing to do with anything paranormal.
Still it may be one of the scariest books I have read in forever.
