What Members Thought

The first chapter or so seemed a bit slow, but then I got carried right along. Jane herself was a fairly classic medieval good character, although a bit outspoken. Not one of these modern heroines like Elizabeth Bennett. During the book I kept noticing all the comments about physiognomy, which seemed to hint at something that didn't really make me comfortable: something about fate, and race, and inborn abilities, which we don't really buy into now.
