This was a very well written and entertaining introduction to a new series and to a new author. My appreciation of the book grew even stronger when I read the author bio and found out how incredibly young Mr. Paolini is and was when writing the book. To have that much creative talent and to be able to put it to that much use at such a young age is a marvelous acheivement unto itself.

I found this story intriguing, even if the style it's written in took a while to get in to. The one thing I can say, DON'T judge this book by its movie. The movie was such an abomination and really should've had a different title with how much it varied from the book. Paolini actually does some really beautiful things with the way he ties events and significance to each other in this book. As always, any book about dragons is a book for me since I was in love with these mythical creatures ever since I was a kid, but "Eragon" truly surpassed my every expectation, it was action powered, dramatic at points and a wonderful life lesson to be learned. One part brave, three parts fool.
