I'm reviewing this based on my reread at age 20. (I previously read it when I was about 8 or 9 years old.)
This is a lovely, timeless book. I had doubts about Rowling's writing style, from what I remember of the later novels, but I cannot fault her writing in Sorcerer's Stone. It's very funny; I think there are a lot of jokes for adults that I never appreciated as a child. The entire narrative is very well thought out. I never felt like I was reading a children's novel. It was just a great read.
