My first excursion in the Harry Potter universe was what you would call a life changing event. I think I was about eight years old when I first got this as a gift from a friend of mine for my birthday. Since at the time I was more in love with being outside and playing hide-and-seek with my neighbors than sitting inside all day snuggled up with a good book, it took me about six months to finally crack this open and start reading it, and my God what a surprise I was in for.

I first started the Harry Potter series in second grade, and was immediately hooked. This is the first installment of a fantastic series, in which the reader is introduced to a breathtaking setting, colorful characters, and a timeless story.
