Colin Chadwick has created a vivid world that is almost reminiscent of Middle Earth though much grittier. The book's character's come to life in this story and you can easily connect with the frustrations and sorrows of the situations they are placed within. The main character Tan emerges as a hero that you want to cheer for right from the beginning of the story and the giant sized troubles the author creates for him. Tan doesn't know that he is the one who can reunite the pieces of Syalonis scattered consciousness- I walked into this skeptically, because Fantasy is not my favorite genre to read, but I was intrigued by the name of the book "Soulhunters" something about that name drew me in and I'm so glad that it did, as Tan proves himself the hero from the very beginning, even when up against his giant sized problems.
