What Members Thought

A delightful opening salvo in the Harry Potter series. The story, a loosely based Cinderella tale, introduces us to Harry, Ron, Hermione, Hagrid, Dumbledore and the other iconic characters in the ongoing series. The story is fun, suspenseful, has a few twists, and is easy to read. What’s not to like?
One minor caveat - it feels as if Rowling hasn’t quite gotten her writing chops in full force yet. While certainly not bad, at times the phrasings feel slightly clumsy.
