This book was ok for the car, as it involves two women, one from England and one American, and I enjoyed how two different readers brought the accents to each, however, it really is a bit of a mess of a book. The book takes place in the 50's, where Alice Shipley, now living in Tangiers, is visited by her old Bennington roomate, Lucy Mason. Lucy and Alice were close in college, but it became obvious that Alice was obsessed with Lucy, and there is a "secret" shared by the two. There is really little mystery in the book, some suspense, but it is ruined by a bunch of red herrings and unformed plot lines that really go nowhere. I did not mind so much in the car (where I am often distracted), but don't know if I would have finished it in book form.
