What Members Thought

Because I enjoy James Wood's nonfiction writing, I was curious about this novel. It's very good- quiet and understated but beautifully written and observed. Mainly seen through the eyes of a man in his sixties, the themes are life review, relation of parents to adult children, and America through British eyes. The upstate NY cities, landscape, and wintry weather are such a presence in this Vivaldi Four Seasons-Winter of a book.
