[close] This book is filled with so many interesting nuggets that you need someone nearby while you read it, as you will want to share many of the insights. For example; introversion and shyness are not the same, or, the process of brainstorming (using a group of people to work together to generate new ideas) has actually been proved to be less efficient than having individuals work on their own. This book explores how our culture has evolved to value extroverts, and convincingly (with much data and research) posits that we should be placing more value on introverts. It has a section geared to parents (which I wish I had read when my children were young), as well as educators, on how to bring out the best in introverts (and yes, extroverts as well). Fascinating insights, I will leave you with two great quotes from the book: "The secret to life is to put yourself in the right lighting. For some it's a Broadway spotlight, for others a lamplit desk." And: "Never mistake assertiveness or eloquence for good ideas." Great reading.
