What Members Thought
I am having a hard time deciding whether I really love or dislike this book, but since (once I hit the halfway point anyway) it was mostly a page turner I will go with the love. It tells the story of Turtle/Julia (it is never really clear why she hates her name; because her dead mother called her that doesn't make much sense in the context, but anyway) an abused (mentally and physically) adolescent living with her abusive survivalist father in a remote part of northern California.
