This is the first book in the Greenhouse Mystery series, by Wendy Tyson. I enjoyed this book , first of all, because it's well-written and plotted. The main character, Megan Sawyer, is a former attorney who has returned to her hometown to help her grandmother by running an organic farm and restaurant. The cast of characters in the small PA town of Winsome are engaging, and you want to learn more about them, including older women such as the heroine's aunt and grandmother. This book has atmosphere, mystery, insight into characters, romance, animals, gardening, and cooking- including a recipe and gardening tip at the end. What could be bad? If you like cozy mysteries, this is a great one. I heard about this series only because Wendy Tyson will be visiting the Closter Public Library on September 24th as part of our " Meet the Author" program. What a pleasant surprise! I devoured the book, as well as the pasta primavera I made from the recipe at the end, and immediately downloaded the next in the series onto my Kindle. I hope more people will be able to discover and enjoy this series.
