I wish I could give this book 10 stars!!!! Ahhhh what a sweet romance! I loved every word of this book. I am such a helpless romantic sometimes!! Henry is so dang amazing! Books like this are so bitter sweet. I didn't want to keep reading because I didn't want the book to end! This author is truly talented in pulling the reader into the story! The mother....oh she was awful! She reminded me of the mom from Pride and Prejudice. And her sisters were just as bad!

I have decided I am just not a fan of this author. I have read two of her books and I can't seem to get attached to her heroines. I feel like she can never decide what kind of person they are supposed to be and so she tried to make them several people rolled into one. Are they sensitive, shallow, proud, loud, quiet, timid, bold, direct, extrovert, introvert, silly, poised. I struggled with this one and had to push myself through it.

I was surprised how much I liked this book. Yes, the plot line is somewhat predictable. Yes, if information were shared, it could have saved the main characters a lot of heartache. Yet these things don't get in the way of the story and it is still enjoyable. I got to one point and it was clear the house wasn't going to be vacuumed and the dirty dishes were staying in the sink until I finished the book. Well done, Ms. Donaldson.

3.5 I really enjoyed the story-completely different and darker than Edenbrooke which I appreciated because I feel like the author isn't a one trick pony. However, there were a lot of holes in the story-especially the ending.

I'm torn between a 4 and a 5. I couldn't put it down!

Love it, love it, love it. Even better than Edenbrooke, though I may have to re-read Edenbrooke to make sure. I don't know what to say because I don't want to give any spoilers. One thing I didn't know as I began, that kept me guessing, was if Blackmoore was going to be Wuthering Heights-esque or Jane Eyre-esque or just its own kind of romance.

I didn't think that I would like this book as much as Edenbrooke which I absolutely loved, but I did.
