Oh, I loved this book, just as I do the movie. I was disappointed with the editing in the particular version I have (Seven Treasures Publications) which I ordered off the internet. It had a LOT of typos, misspelled words, etc. But, the story was "enchanting." It brought out thoughts and feelings that couldn't be completely shown in the movie. I think I prefer the ending in the movie to the ending in the book--though similar, the movie's ending was more moving. I loved my visits to San Salvatore,

What a delightful read! I thoroughly enjoyed this tale of four women who spend a month vacationing in Italy at a castle. The character development and story line was so fun. Elizabeth von Arnim's writing style reminds me somewhat of the way Jane Austen wrote.

Just saw the play on Friday and realized I had never read the book. It was one of those moments when you realize it’s the right time to do so.
I was so bored. I got about half way and just dreaded reading it so I stopped.
