Not sure how to rate this one. I guess I'd give it a 3.5 stars. I liked it. At some parts I loved it. But the ending left me unsatisfied even though it was technically a "happy ending." I'm still anxious to see the movie and what they did with it. I really loved the female characters in this book, and the setting, and the storyline, but the men were all egotistical idiots (in my opinion) -- after reading more about the author, I think this was probably how she viewed men. Light but enjoyable read about happiness and choices. Hints of Jane Austen type literature. Good one to read after having read something of a more heavy nature.
Totally a lark, but sometimes you just need a little bit of frivolous sunshine.
I read this a while ago, but remember liking it...
This was quite an interesting book. It reminds me somewhat of "A Room With a View"--British ladies "finding themselves" during a vacation to Italy. This one is more serious, though. It delves into the theme of marriage, and how one's personal identity affects such an intimate relationship. I'm making it sound boring, though! It wasn't at all--I could hardly put it down. It really was a delight. I remember really liking the movie as well. . .

I was LOVING this book and blown away with it's voice and humor, but the dead-beat men in the story kinda took it down a notch for me.
