Started reading this to my girls. A little too violent for them I think. My kids are young and impressionable. I worry about planting too many ideas in their tender minds.

I'm sure I read this as a girl, but I have no recollection of anything except that the cover looks familiar. I like that it was clean, full of adventure, and easy to read. ...more

I loved this book when I read it (cerca 6th grade) and I loved it still when I re-read it for an Avi author study in Sandy's 5th grade class. ...more

I think that this book deserves 2.5 stars from me - because I almost liked it. I wanted to like it - but I either read it at the wrong time - or it just wasn't my kind of book. Well researched, but not to my interest. Lots of extra details that dragged an otherwise interesting plot. Unfortunately, the title character wasn't that believable in her roles. It almost reminded me of bad acting. Some of the other characters were better written and more convincing. Still, not what you would expect of a Newberry honor book. Avi has written better. ...more

I really liked this book! I was surprised by a lot of what happened, even though I thought it would be totally predictable. My favorite part was definitely the ending. I won't say much, because I don't want to ruin the book for anyone, but I loved Charlotte. I have heard they are making this into a movie, and I will definitely go and see it! (CD) ...more

I enjoyed this book! It was a treat to see how Charlotte changed. I was not sure about the ending at first, but I am liking it more and more.

Fun book. Great read for any teenage girl. Very Disneyesque ending but still a lot of fun. Great heroine.
