I finally got around to reading this after hearing about it from so many people. It was a great book....I didn't know about Japanese internment camps so this was a history lesson for me. I loved the relationship between Henry and Keiko and I was so sad for what Henry's father ultimately did that kept them apart. I really liked this book. It was such a charming tale of love and honor and the complicated lives of those living between two cultures.
This story is told from a perspective of history that I didn't know much about. I appreciated that perspective. At times, I wanted the story to move faster and get to the meat. I did really enjoy the last couple chapters where everything came together.

rereading for our book club. Liked it just as much the second time. I always like a book that is set in a familiar place.
