I think part of what I liked about this book was that it was set in Seattle and i liked reading about familiar names and places. Liked learning some of Seattle's history, and I learned a lot about the Japanese relocation camps during WWII. Great historical fiction book. Nice story. Lots of possibilities for book club discussions.

I really liked this book. The title was apropo as it left me feeling bitter and sweet at the end. It's a story that takes place during WWII with the internment of the Japanese people. It catches hold of two young kids, Keiko and Henry. It was well written and it had absolutely no bad parts. Loved it.

I finally got around to reading this after hearing about it from so many people. It was a great book....I didn't know about Japanese internment camps so this was a history lesson for me. I loved the relationship between Henry and Keiko and I was so sad for what Henry's father ultimately did that kept them apart. I loved that jazz music was interwoven in there and I loved reading how their story unfolded. I think it was great that Henry did get his second chance to be with Keiko after he had alre

Sweet little love story with some history sneaked in there ;) I didn't really expect to like this book because it was a pretty slow start, but I really ended up liking it. I don't know why I gave it 3 stars, I just did. But I still recommend it. I always love a happy ending.
