What Members Thought

The story of a 12 year old girl living in a big city (New York, I think?) with her single mom, trying to make sense of herself. I think this is most of all about the relationships she has with others, and there are some great messages. But I also love the mysterious notes she keeps getting, and enjoyed trying to make sense of them along with her. Not too deep, but there are still some good insights, and I like the way everything is resolved.

A little time-travel novel. It was a quick read but I found it a little confusing. The author was obviously going out of her way to avoid letting us know who this REALLY long letter was written to. It didn't sound natural.

This was kind of cool, especially its allusions to A Wrinkle in Time, which is one of my all-time favorite books. I liked the main character a lot, and I liked how everything tied together in the end. I was fascinated by the main character's mom, but annoyed with some of her choices. Not really one to recommend unless you're really into A Wrinkle in Time, I would say, or if you like thinking about time travel situations.
