Interesting dystopian world that reminds me of the Blade Runner (or the actual Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?) and 1984. It's kind of an introspective book without a lot of action or even drama.
Finished the trilogy, but I didn't love this first book and I think it is by far the best. So if you weren't thrilled with this book, I'd read some spoilers about the other two and not bother reading them. If I knew then, what I know now, I would've abandoned the series after the first book.

I felt like this was a little 5 minutes ago, after reading/seeing so much dystopian teen fiction. I liked that it was less violent than The Hunger Games trilogy, but it was not quite as well written. Still, it is a good read, and I felt great about my teens reading it, because there was nothing in it I would be uncomfortable with them reading. I can't say that about many of the dystopian novels out there.

I love dystopian YA fiction and this was an exceptional read. If you ever wanted to know how life would be if nearly everything was chosen for you to who you marry, what job you have to what you eat then this is the book for you. I eagerly look forward to book 2!

Well this is a young adult book I read before my kids did. I think they'll like it, though it's a complete knock off of Hunger Games. Lovers of Hunger Games will probably like it, I just have a small problem with intellectual thievery.

Loved it! Can't wait for the next one!

I wouldn't recommend reading this book until November when book number 2 comes out. Fun book-super quick read-you'll want book 2 as soon as you finish number 1.

So happy to read a young adult novel that is appropriate for teens. This book is not only well written and intriguing, it's also very clean. I would recommend for 14+.

I could not connect with the characters, the only person I really cared about was the one that was slighted. I don't know if I'll finish the series or not.
