I reread this book because I wanted to read the sequel. I almost NEVER reread books but it had been too long since I read the original and I couldn't remember a thing about it. Usually I just look up plot summaries on the internet, but I really wanted to immerse myself in the story again. I wasn't disappointed. I still enjoyed the story....the setting, the plot, and the characters were all delightful.

A little too juvenile for me...too cheesey and predictable. BUT I think that if I hadn't just read the book thief which was aimed at about the same audience, I would have liked it better. I think young girls would like it. It's cute and if I was reading it with my daughter I think I would have really enjoyed it (she's a bit too young at this point).

This was excellent! I would highly recommend it to girls age 9 and up, and anyone else who enjoys Shannon Hale. It did not have any shockers to make it PG like Goose Girl and Enna Burning. A very uplifting, enjoyable story.
I read this book because of all the great reviews I received from friends on Goodreads. I agree wholeheartedly with all of those reviews. It is such a GREAT book!
I didn't enjoy this book as much as I had anticipated, but I am still interested in reading more of her books. I think that I'll read the Goose Girl next.

I loved this one. These are the Shannon Hale's I can handle. I like that they are feel-good novels without sickeningly sweet.
