Oh so sad but yet so good. This one is a tear jerker! 😭 What a beautiful story!! So nice to read a really meaningful story that isn’t mucked up with language and innuendo. And we all need a little love story in the background. Wish I knew what happened next for these characters, now that I’ve come to love them ...

This book took a little bit for me to get into, but once I did, I could hardly put it down. The story was heartbreaking & hard to fathom. It is based on true events of children stolen and sold as orphans.

Another unforgettable book. This is historical fiction set in 1939 Memphis, Tennessee. Again, sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

I have a hard time understanding how people, especially the women in this story, can be so heartless, cruel, evil & full of greed. I had no idea that this horrific thing took place in the early to mid 1900s. My heart broke for these families and children that were torn apart by the evil and greed filled intentions of a couple of women.

This was such a painful and riveting story. So hard to believe that this was going on in America all those years. It was eye opening and caused me to reflect on the value of family bonds over the years.
