This juvenile lit book is a good introduction to some hard ideas, i.e. the importance of suffering in our lives and what could happen if a society attempted to eradicate it, self sacrifice, the importance of individuality and choices. The story is compelling and the characters are interesting.
Had to read this in Middle school, and decided to re-read it. Still a thought-provoking book, and one that lets the reader decide the meaning of the ending.
Great book! Was the only one in that series tho that I really liked.
Actually I didn't read this but Jacob did - he loved it!

Book Club Book, Chosen by Brook Andreoli
Realized when I started that I'd read this before. I think because there were no surprises I didn't enjoy it as much the second time. But it is an interesting story. Perhaps it makes me appreciate more my boys' rebelliousness and tendency to shirk rules...nah let's not go that far.

This was a very thought provoking book for me. Although it is considered an "adolescent" book, I would recommend it to anyone. I couldn't stop thinking about it for days!
