I'd give this 3.5 stars or so. It's a short, fast read. It's kind of interesting to think of life with absolutely no agency.

I think I was a little late reading this. people tell me I was supposed to have read this in high school. I was supposed to have read a lot of books in high school that I didn't read. So, now I have. It was different, but entertaining. Kindof left me hanging on the end.

I realized in reading this again that I did not remember anything from it. What a fascinating story! I was torn how to rate it especially since the ending happened so fast, but ultimately I really did feel it was amazing and worthy of a 5. I'm dying to read what happens next!

At first I was a little turned off by how much this world reminded me of the world in A Wrinkle in Time. But it turned out to be an excellent story about conformity, choices and what we sacrifice when we try to eliminate all problems from society.
I devoured this book in an afternoon, sobbing through parts of it. We took a road trip later that week, so I read it aloud to my husband as he drove. I could read it over and over and over.
Excellent Book - makes you really appreciate you free agency!
