I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that captured the character’s age and voice so well! I loved everything about this book, from the unique story, to the message of overcoming obstacles and finding what’s important, to the comical comments of Ove and more.

FINE I READ IT. AND FINE I LOVED IT JUST LIKE EVERYONE SAID I WOULD. But I resent all the ugly crying I’ve been doing. Sure, sure anyone can write sad stories that make people cry, but the ones where the goodness of humanity reduces me to a gross mucusy blob are impressive.

I loved this book. Made me laugh. Made me cry. There is so much to Ove, more than even he knows. Like ogres and onions, Ove has layers. And it was fun to discover those layers right along with him. Cleverly written and great character development. Highly recommend.
I loved so many things about this book - it made me laugh and cry. My biggest dislike was how much swearing was in it - too much! But the plot itself is a great read, and the characters come to life from the very beginning.
A great story! Highly recommended!
In the beginning, I didn’t like the present-tense style of the book, or the deluge of negativity towards humanity from Ove. But I couldn’t put the book down, almost from the beginning, and I grew to love Ove as time went on. It’s 4 stars instead of 5, because of the language.
