I started Ove a few years, but the themes of suicide in the book kept me from finishing it until last night. I'm sorry that I dragged it out for so long! What a great book! This is one of the most heartwarming books I've read in a long time. It's not often that a book brings me to tears, but this one did it and kept me up reading until way past my bedtime! I am so glad that I circled back!

I really lOVEd this book! I can't even explain why exactly. But I absolutely adored the main character and the pregnant lady next door with the name I can't remember. Ove reminds me SOOOOO much of some grumpy old (and not so old) men in my life (who I happen to love). His rationale and way of thinking makes perfect sense to him and he can't see why everyone else can't just do it his way. I laughed out loud so many times in this book. It was a delightful and heartwarming story that touched me on

I really enjoyed the writing style. I found myself laughing out loud but also near tears at different points throughout. I actually relate with Ove quite a bit: stubborn, old fashioned, everything is black and white, logical, etc.. I wouldn't call this a love story, per se, but it is definitely a story about love. Love with neighbors, friends, students, teachers, husbands, wives, parents, children...and I loved that.

At first I didn't like Ove at all, but by the end I loved him!

It took a little bit to get into but then I loved it! My kids kept asking me what I was laughing about. There are so many great lines in this one. There is great character evolution and I love all of Ove's neighbors - I want them for my own.
