I read this one with my kids and my son especially was completely enthralled! This boy was about my son's age (12) when he was left alone in the Canadian wilderness to fend for himself after a plane crash.
I loved the way Brian used his abilities to figure out how to survive and how he learned from his mistakes, constantly becoming better. I can't even imagine the fear, despair, hope, and hunger that he felt and I'm a lot older and more experienced in life.

I started listening to this in the car with my youngest, and we were quickly hooked. This is YA survival fiction. It's a little unrealistic at times, but it's gripping and makes you wonder what you would do in these situations.

I liked this and will read or recommend this to my boys when they are older. The survival story was fascinating. The only thing I didn't like was the whole business about his parent's divorce. It easily could have been left out.

Read this with my 10 yo son. It is a good book, full of adventure and survival. I didn't care for the back story about the "secret" (Brian seeing his mother with another man)I don't see how it was necessary to the overall story.
