You know it's really not fair to my husband for me to keep reading these books w fabulous heroes like Mr. Beaumaris. My husband is a great guy really, but I am sure I sometimes get this far away look when I wish he would pull up in a carriage and solve all my problems and wear a top hat, know etiquette intimately, and well, you get the point. But he does do the dishes for me, and let me sleep in on Saturday morning, so there you go.

I LOVED this book! It was such a fun read with a very likable heroine, not to mention a very agreeable leading man, Mr. Beaumaris. Arabella is full of spunk and is not afraid of speaking her mind when she feels an injustice has been made, and somehow Mr. Beaumaris is the lucky one she turns to for assistance. I’m getting a little ahead of myself though, when first meeting they don’t care for one another. When Arabella overhears a *shocking* conversation between Mr. Beaumaris and Mr. Fleetwood, A

When the librarian handed me a worn, red book with no dust jacket, I smirked. I judged the book by its lack of cover and decided I wouldn't like the story.
I am glad to say I was wrong!
Arabella is the oldest and most beautiful daughter of a Yorkshire clergyman. Her mama sends her to London to make a suitable match (hopefully wealthy). On the way, Arabella's borrowed coach breaks down and she is thrust into the acquaintance of Mr. Beaumaris.

I love these books. So much. I love the men in her stories - so freaking charming. Ugh.
I gotta admit this one took a little bit of time to get into. Once she ends up in her 'predicament', that's when the story started coming about and I just couldn't put it down. My favorite chapters were having to do with Jemmy and Ulysses (you will see when you meet them). Arabella is my kind of girl.

I was able to feel much happier with the romantic relationship in this one than in The Grand Sophy, but I did not enjoy the story as much. There was too much going on and I often felt lost and had to backtrack to understand. The language was also a bit of a hindrance again too since there were many words I didn’t know.
