What Members Thought

Interesting historical fiction. I learned a lot reading this series...but it's a bit graphic and made me cry!

I feel deeply and utterly in love with the characters in this book. The setting is Wales/England during and after the reign of King John. Joanna, the illegitimate daughter of the King is the main character. I loved that she was imperfect, experienced so many terrible, hard things; yet, she found happiness. I love these kind of stories. The book does have some sexual content, but none of it was explicit.

Whew! I finally finished! This book is over 700 pages long, with very small type. But, I adored it. It tells the story of the Welsh & Norman royalty and their battles over land in the 1200's. It is an intriguing story to me since I am a direct ancestor of some of the characters in the book. This book is full of great love stories, war, deception, and more. It was really a fun read for me.

Just couldn't quite finish it. I'll give it another go some other time.
