I listened to this book and thought it was amazing. I loved both main characters and the telling of the story that intertwined the lives of a daughter of a slave owner, Sarah and a slave, Hettie. The narrators were so good and it reminded of me how I felt when I listened to "The Help."

I absolutely loved this book and I inhaled it. The main characters (Sarah and Handful) quickly found their way into my heart. The history and plot had me riveted. It wasn't until I was about 2/3 the way through the book that I decided to look online to see if any of this was true. I was astounded and pleasantly surprised to find that this was based on true historical figures and facts. It made the book even more dear to my heart. It was a perfect book to spend almost my entire Juneteenth reading
