Did I spend the very last of my money on this book? Think about who you're dealing with here. Think a little harder. I ABSOLUTELY spent the last of my money on this. Finished this one on my birthday, something I always like to pay attention to!

Of course, being back in Clare's world, her big books with their unique font and characters you've known for years-- it's always a nice feeling! This was a behemoth, and it was a great read, but there was something decidedly not five stars about for me, though I can't pinpoint exactly what.

It might be that the Blackthorn clan never did as much for me as Clary/Jace/Simon/Lightwoods and especially Tessa/Jem/Will. Honestl ...more
