I loved everything about this book! I haven’t read a Clare book in years and forgot how much I enjoy her writing & world. The characters in this trilogy may be my favorite of hers so far 😍 And I love the incorporation of all of our favorite characters from TMI & TID — also love how all of the Shadowhunter families are connected, related, bonded. I was so excited to start this book. Finally a Shadowhunter book I could go into with fresh eyes. A book I knew nothing about.

It's been five years since the Dark War, Emma Carstairs knows that Sebastian didn't kill her parents and that whoever is responsible is still out there. She has a wall dedicated to information concerning her parents, hoping to discovered what happened. Her parabatai is Julian Blackthorn who looks after his siblings, Livia Blackthorn, Tiberius Blackthorn, Drusilla Blacktho I was so excited to start this book. Finally a Shadowhunter book I could go into with fresh eyes. A book I knew nothing about.

It's been five years since the Dark War, Emma Carstairs knows that Sebastian didn't kill her parents and that whoever is responsible is still out there. She has a wall dedicated to information concerning her parents, hoping to discovered what happened. Her parabatai is Julian Blackthorn who looks after his siblings, Livia Blackthorn, Tiberius Blackthorn, Drusilla Blackthorn, Octavian Blackthorn, who all miss their exiled sister Helen and their Wild Hunt sibling Mark. Their guardian is Arthur who spends most of his time in the attic where he has times where he lives in the past.

In the meantime, murders with similar markings as her parents have been popping up, and she is determined to find out the cause. A reluctant alliance between them and Fey is in place giving them two weeks to find out who is behind the murders, and also giving them Mark back as collateral. When the case has been solved, Mark can choose to either stay with his family or return to the Wild Hunt, but with the Cold Peace, no one not even the Clave can know about Mark's return.

Words can not describe how much I loved this book.

Emma is such a reckless but badass character. She makes mistakes, she is a little brash but she loves her friends. Cristina was such an amazing character and their friendship is one I loved. Not many girl friendships in Young Adult fiction.

Everyone has tragic past in this story that they are overcoming. I have to wonder about the Blackthorn's tutor. There is a lot of secrets she is keeping that I hope we get to know more about in the next book.

There were so many relationships that made my heart sink. Emma and Julian, Mark and Kieran, Cristina and Diego, even the side relationships where you didn't know where it was going to go. Its obvious that Mark has feelings for Cristina but he still loves Kieran and Cristina has feelings for Mark but still loves Diego.

I have this feelings its going to be a love story as tragic as The Infernal Devices series between Mark, Emma, and Julian cause I wonder if Mark has feelings for Emma too. SO MANY QUESTIONS, AND NO ANSWERS.

Even weeks after finishing, my mind is all over the place (and so is this review). I am anxiously waiting for May 23 to buy Lord of Shadows. I need it. I NEED IT NOW. I want to know what happens next.

I love all of Cassandra Clare's books! This is Emma Cairstair and Julian Blackthorn story along with Mark Blackthorn all of who we met in the earlier series. A lot of the characters from the previous book make appearances in this book and it might be a little confusing if you have not read them. My only regret is not waiting for all books in this series to be completed before I started them because I really don't want to wait to see if Emma makes that horrible choice that I think she is going to ...more
