Never since Deathly Hallows, have I ever read such a satisfying conclusion to a series. I am still trying to process that this series is over.Going into this, it had that eerie, almost sad, helpless feeling that "Wow...This is it. This is the beginning of the end." And it's gonna take a while for me to let it sink in; I'm a little numb from reading the last 150 pages.

EVERYBODY in this book, who was 6 out of 5 stars. I'd never thought I'd live to see this day and the feels are slowly coming to me.

EVERYBODY in this book, who was affected by Sebastian's tyranny, you could not help but feel SO sorry for; it seemed so bleak and it made you feel for everybody, even the newly introduced Emma and Julian and their family.(To which I am even more excited about The Dark Artifices) Jace, Chary and the gang were just as exciting to read and, as the formula goes, the good guys go through hell(in this case, literally) to defeat the evil that is Sebastian/Jonathan.

What made this book even more impactful was how Cassandra wrote the last couple of chapters, as well as the epilogue. It was so beautiful, and in the end, the feels were for everyone: Jonathan, Simon, Clary, Jocelyn, everyone. The epilogue was my favorite part of the book, because it was so satisfying to read and it tied up EVERY loose end that was created throughout the books: The tensions between the Lightwood's, handling the fallen, Turned or not, and the situation with Emma and Julian; even the wedding(Admit it, we forgot about the wedding lol ;P) I especially loved the cameo appearance from a past character that involves "Zachariah".

In the end, this is, by far, one of my top favorite series in existence. People will talk bad about Cassandra Clare because she's too focused on this world; I think otherwise. It is because of her and this series, is what introduced me to YA; It is because of her and this series that got me back to reading in general; it is because of her and this series that has aspired me to study English and become an author. I don't care if she writes 10 series around the Shadowhunter world, I will ready EVERY single book. Her writing is beautiful, her imagination is fantastic and SO unique and SO brilliant.

I am sad that the story of Jace and Clary is over, but I am honored to read about them and am anticipating to read the more in-depth story of Emma and Julian, and many more Shadowhunters.

Boat loads of caffeine and tears have brought me to this point.

This conclusion didn't disappoint. I hated it for the same reasons I loved it. Left me a bundle of emotions holed up in my room reading for a day and a half, giving this reaction to my parents whenever they would try to speak to me.

I stand corrected when I said that CoG and CoLS are my favorite because I believe that nothing can top CoHF’s 700+ pages. I would read this over and over again. Even reading Prologue, I was already moved because of what Emma and Julian had to witness, part of the reason I’m already excited for The Lady Midnight. Halfway through the book, I have difficulty reading because my tears are blurring my vision. I keep stopping to message my best friend how she survived the book, it was heartbreaking!

I understand how Clary felt towards Jonathan Morgenstern, he would always be the brother she never had and it hurts so bad to know that there should’ve been a possibility that he could be the person he was supposed to be only if Valentine didn’t do what he did. I was really shocked about Simon! I kept reading articles about Shadowhunter Academy book and how Simon was the main character there but I didn’t know how it would go the way it did. It crushed me to the bones that Simon remembers nothing, but then whoops! Magnus found a solution. I couldn’t help but curse Cassandra Clare for doing this to me, I even asked myself Why did I freakin’ engaged myself to this kind of misery?
And let’s not forget about how Jace and Clary managed to do IT in hell. wow guys, literally in hell. I was really proud of their control when they were still at the normal dimension, but I guess when you’re in hell you couldn’t help but lose it all and be bad (haha). It really cracked me up when Alec said “My eyes, my eyes” and “Why does this keep on happening?” when he walked in on Simon and Izzy kissing again in a good “position”. If I list everything, I’m gonna have to just retype all of the things that happened in the book, because all of it are my favorite. Even the part where Maia has to lose Jordan that way, it really hurts, especially when Maia revealed what she was really supposed to tell Jordan before he died. It was all so sad but then everything fell into the right place in the end, for them anyway because I feel like there’s more to what happened to Emma’s parents, so I’m really looking forward to more actions.

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO SO SO VERY MUCH!!! It was so epic and wonderful and i absolutely adored it !! It wasn't as heartbreaking as I thought it would be thank God!! I just can't believe this is the end of The Mortal Instruments, but I cant wait for The Dark Artifices!!! Looking forward to more from Cassie Clare :) ...more
