My review(Major Spoilers from first 4 books and minor from this one)

Sebastian is back and has disappeared taking Jace with him.Clary,Alec,Simon,Isabelle,and Magnus are ready to do anything to find him even bargain with dangerous enemies and allies alike.This is one of my favorite TMI books.It has great adventure with Clary going all over the world to beautiful places while being in serious danger.Alec and Magnus are going throw a rocky patch and Jace being missing hasn't helped.I do think that M My review(Major Spoilers from first 4 books and minor from this one)

Sebastian is back and has disappeared taking Jace with him.Clary,Alec,Simon,Isabelle,and Magnus are ready to do anything to find him even bargain with dangerous enemies and allies alike.This is one of my favorite TMI books.It has great adventure with Clary going all over the world to beautiful places while being in serious danger.Alec and Magnus are going throw a rocky patch and Jace being missing hasn't helped.I do think that Magnus needs to be more open with Alec.I really love Alec and Magnus together and think they are perfect for each other.Alec grows in confidence in each book.Camille makes an appearance so don't worry or like me hope she is gone for good.

Cassandra Clare does a great job even with all her characters apart keeping us up with all the information we need and leaving us with everyone just the right amount of time before switching locations and characters.Clary and Jace are together(in a way)so don't think you wouldn't get to read these two's entertaining verbal sparring.

Sebastian really comes into his own as a villain and character in this book.You learn so much about him.I hate him with a passion but some readers have even grown to like even love him because of what was said in this book.But not me in fact this book made me hate him more then ever and made me even more positive that he can't be saved.In fact this quote reminds me of Sebastian:

Some men just want to watch the world burn.It was said in one of the Dark Knight movies and fits him perfectly.

The beginning isn't as action packed as you get toward the end when everything is reveled and it was worse then I could even imagine.If the above quote didn't clue you in Sebastian makes Valentine look like a sane human being.Between the fight scene at the end and the club scene between Jace and Clary this book left me breathless and very happy that Cassandra Clare's wit and humor are back in this book.I can't wait to read City of Heavenly Fire the last book in the series and see how it all ends.

....(That is my speechlessness) I don't even know where to begin or what to say. I haven't written a review yet for any of these books in this series (I don't really know why), but this one is definitely my all time favorite book series.

City of Lost Souls was the best one out of the series. I was really nervous going into and knowing how the last book ended with Jace (who is my favorite character). It was not what I expected at all! It was SO MUCH BETTER THAN I COULD HAVE IMAGINED!!! All these ....(That is my speechlessness) I don't even know where to begin or what to say. ****Spoiler Warning********

I thought Jace was going to act so different while he was bond to Sebastian. I expected the worst out of him, but he was just so mellow, which frustrated me. He was a watered down version of himself, especially when it came to Clary's protection. Even though Clary was separated from the others, I was glad she was with Jace pretty much the whole time (even if he wasn't the real Jace). At the end of part 2, I was so happy to get a glimpse at the real Jace. As soon as he said, "it's me" I squealed, but at the same time trying not to get my hopes up in case I was wrong, at least until Clary confirmed it.

At the end when Clary stab him with the sword, I screamed and started crying. I was hoping he wouldn't be dead, but because he was brought back in the third book, I was nervous he would be gone now. I remembered what the angel said about clearing him of evil, but I was still really scared. When she felt his heartbeat, I started hyperventilating for five minutes, and had to calm myself down before I could continue reading.

As I read through the book, I kept trying to guess how it would all end. I was close but slightly off the mark. I thought Jace would drink Lilith's blood, and then they would have use the sword on him. I got half of it right, but it was still upsetting and surprising when Clary stabbed him.

Before I started reading this book, I was worried about the end, and if the author was going to give us a huge cliff-hanger. I thought maybe Jace wouldn't be freed from Sebastian in this book, but I am so glad to be proven wrong. I'm so excited for the next book!!! I can't believe we have to wait until 2014, but at least the movie should be coming out next year to tide us over. This wait shouldn't be as painful because Jace and Clary are okay and together. Can't wait for City of Heavenly Fire!!!! ...more

'Okay I finished City Of Lost Souls
I LOVED IT
I could understand how Clary Felt....I mean to know Jace is not there yet you she can't stop loving him.
As for Sebastion I liked him you know I mean I really thought he was cute and was actually becoming good, a big mistake on my part
And at the end when he kissed Clary I was....creeped out cause I have a brother
Simon and Isabelle!! They rocked they should totally be together <3
And I can't wait!! would the fairies and vampires be against shadowhunte ...more

Is this the last one? It can't be the last one.
This one has changed my opinion of the series again. With the 4th I was very disappointed and even was reluctant to begin the 5th. But now I'm glad I read it.

We see more about Jonathan/Sebastian, more Jace, more Jordan and more Magnus! The plot was good and entertaing and as I said before: I hope it's not the last! ...more
