Malcolm provides a nonfiction account of the relationships among D. R. Eissler, Jeff Masson, and Peter Swales, Freud scholars/psychoanalysts. The Seduction Theory dumped by Freud is at the center of their controversy with Masson being anti-Freud [reported sexual abuse was real]. This gives a great overview of the early history of psychoanalysis through the 1970s. It is a great read, to Malcolm's credit.
