I was hesitant about diving into this book. I hadn't read any reviews about it, or plot synopses, so the only knowledge I had was from the title. Of course because I am an archivist people were always telling me I would "love this book," and because I am rebellious when it comes to anyone thinking on such singular terms about me, I passed it by for months and months. The premise seemed good, but I was losing interest by the end. The story just moved too slowly for me. The author didn't differentiate the voices of the different characters (the daughter, the father and his advisor) enough. I also found it really irritating that "letters" written did not read like letters (such as extra descriptions that seemed unnecessary in letters that were supposedly written urgently). They just read like any other chapter in the novel.
