I had watched the movie directed by the famous Taiwanese director Ang Lee. So when I found it on the shelf in the hotel at Penang, I chose it to be the next book to read.
The story is very interesting. And the book is dedicatedly divided into 3 parts. The first part tells the background of the family. The father of Pi ran a zoo in India. Pi grew up in this zoo. This background information is lengthy but helpful for explaining the knowledge Pi has to deal with and tame a Bengal tiger.
