I can't believe I took so long to read this. I'm so in love wIth the movies, and I even have an Anne of green gables doll. However, I felt like I already knew the Anne story intimately, and there are so many books I want to and need to read that I never read this one as i almost viewed ir as rereading, which i simply do not have time to do. I hadn't read this book since the first time as a much younger person. I was somewhat afraid it would leave me disappointed with my jaded adult perspective. Thankfully, joyfully, it did not. I laughed through the tears with as much enjoyment as I must have in my teens. It also makes me want to visit PEI even more than ever! ...more
