Loved this book
I haven't quite wrapped my head around this beast (I'll get back to you after I examine some literary criticisms) but damn. Tolstoy provides such insight into the characters - often with unassuming asides describing little actions or behaviors, and writes of military strategy and human nature with unmatched eloquence and clarity. I had a nice long ugly cry as I read of a character's lingering death (heart-breakingly beautiful) and was often unable to put the book down long after bedtime.
