I really loved reading this book. The coming of age story of a poor Irish girl living in Brooklyn. It was poignant. It was wonderful. The descriptions were great. Descriptions play a great role in making a book a classic - the story may be mediocre, there may be nothing new to convey, but the way the circumstances, thoughts and inanimate objects were described, I felt as if I was walking through the lanes, experiencing the poverty and anguish.
