Clearly a very unique book. Different from any I've ever read. It was consolatory, delightful and difficult. But I cannot speak anymore about it without some context about Ireland and language and religion and so on. Complete review will come when I get some perspective on the themes close to Joyce and the portrait.

I remember loving this book when I read it in college, and I am eager to read it again to see what I remember almost 30 years later.
