Ok, so saying I liked this book would be a bit of a stretch, however, looking at it in retrospect now, I think it was important for my cultural literacy. The real value in this work lies in it being the first of its kind and Swift's writing ability. Gulliver as a person kind of drove me insane and Swift's diatribes were a bit too obvious for my taste. Gulliver's Travels by Jonathen Swift is truly a classic. It is the oldest novel I have ever read and actually one of the better ones. It is actually four stories not just the one with the liliputians which is the most famous of the four. I origanilly wanted to read this because of the Jack Black movie and I am glad I did.
