What Members Thought

I've tried really hard to be a fan of Hemingway. I just don't think it's going to happen. Yeah, he writes cleanly and simply but writing should be about more than efficiency. If reading is a journey then I don't want the journey to be completely straight and flat and the shortest route to the end. I want to enjoy the ride. It may be good, solid writing but I just don't find it to be beautiful, engaging, or challenging writing.
