I don't understand this. At all. I did not like a single aspect of this book. It's racist, misogynist, anti-semitic crap. Some discussion of all that stuff follows.

Notes: I can't believe this novel is 87 years old. The older I become, the more relevant its themes. Strangely, the older I become, the more hungover I feel during the characters' stay in Pamplona. Mr. Barnes, I will see you in another few years.
