I had to read this twice. I simply was not able to figure out what Hemingway was saying. Not in a bad way, but in a way that made me curious. Reading 'The Old Man and the Sea' is like delving in to the psyche of not only the protagonist but of Hemingway himself. After reading it through the first time, I knew that I loved it but I didn't know why. I couldn't put my finger on exactly why this book had touched me so deeply.
