Do you like depressing books? Then you will LOVE Tess of the D'Urbervilles!
I read this one in high school and I really liked it at the time (in fact I was surprised to see it at "only" four stars here--I thought my feelings about it were more in the five star category the first time around). It was interesting to see what I remembered and what I had forgotten. It's quite good in a lot of ways but I think I'm angry with the author in a way I wasn't the first time I read it. ...more
