A story which challenges the reader since it flows from year to year back and forth in time, the narrative by a great writer William Faulkner about a small town in the deep south. It seems ordinary concerning the Compson family once wealthy now slowly descending however the author is too talented for anything that low and this is considered his best. I give it a 3.9/4.0. I enjoyed the story itself and its themes, but most of the time the story was hard to follow and there was no distinct setting. Time, one of the main motifs of the story, was not set in stone, which made it difficult to immerse fully into the story. I think Faulkner did that intentionally. I think we as readers were meant to see the family through an outsiders perspective, despite being fully into Benny and Quentin's minds. Overall, I loved the themes and the complexity of t
