Dumas is an amazing writer. Not only does he create stories that are full of depth and adventure he also manages to tell it in a way that anyone can understand. He tells his story in a clear and concise way and that is something many modern writers could learn from. "The Count of Monte Cristo is exactly as I just described. Great narration and high paced. "The Count of Monte Cristo" is a masterpiece.

One of my all time faves. Be sure and read the original unabridged version taken from the serialized writings he did for a Paris newspaper way back when.
