This was one long book. It was good in a lot of places, but mostly, it was a chore to finish. I lost interest halfway and took a break of several days and read other books. When I resumed reading it, my only objective was to finish it. And I did, finally.

WOW. Dostoevsky always leaves me breathless. The intricate weaving of his characters, their introductions and how they evolve throughout the novel is absolutely beautiful. I cannot stress this enough: the writing seems lyrical, like there is a cadence to the words. I found this story to be very empowering. Perfection.
