What Members Thought

One of the most beloved novels in history for many generations ; "Jane Eyre" is set in England in the 1800's . The story of a neglected girl orphan of that name who never gives up her dream of happiness, no matter how remote a possibility, this goal can ever be reached. Ondanks dat ik dacht dat dit echt niet mijn ding ging zijn, kan ik toch niet anders dan dit boek 5 sterren geven. I read this book in March for a book club. I did not read many classic books when I was younger, so I did not know what to expect. This book is excellent and because of this book I now read a handful of classic books every month!

"Jane Eyre" is one of the most popular novels of all time for a reason. The writing is gorgeously intricate; the characters stoic and absolutely true-to-form (a rarity); the setting ghostly and surprisingly romantic. I loved it.
